It’s almost unfair to call this a project. Almost. It’s so easy. But let’s not over complicate this. Does the level of mess created equate to level of kid crafting immersion? No, no it does not. So I give you the easiest of holiday-ish kid crafts.
- Find a mason jar with a lid. Wide mouth/larger is better, like this one
- Acquire a battery operated set of string lights, probably on Amazon, like these ones.
- Stretch out the lights, then stuff them into the jar. Lid on. Project done.
- Kid plays with lights, turns them on and off 400 times.
- When kid tires of this, it’s actually a really pretty and festive holiday decoration.
You could craft this up by gluing some festive ribbon around the ring of the lid, or put some pine needles in the bottom of the jar (I think this is safe with the lights…). Or, you could stuff some lights in a jar and watch your kid play with it for 30 minutes while you don’t clean hot glue off your dining room table. Either way.
What easy or nature-inspired crafts do you do with your littles during this home-confinement period we call winter? Please share!
